Thurston Board of Public Affairs
Meeting Minutes
September 13, 2005
The
meeting was called to order by Lowell @ 6:35 P.M.
Roll
call: Lowell Hite, present; Bev Reese,
present; Laura Clark, present; Aaron Reedy, present.
Bev made
a motion to approve the August 2005, meeting minutes. Lowell second. All yea.
Laura
made a motion to accept the August 2005 Financial Statement. Bev second. All yea.
Kris
Wallace, 8111 Maple St., was present. He
said his water bill was $113.00 this month.
It’s too high for 2 people. Said
normally it’s between $32 - $50. He said
they haven’t changed their usage habits, and have checked for any leaks. Lowell said he checked the reading – it was
correct according to the meter. Lowell
said we couldn’t do anything about the sewer portion, but can change the water
if the board approves. Laura mentioned
getting them a new meter. Lowell said
the old meters are better than the new ones – they last longer. Bev made a motion to adjust their water bill
to be the average of the last five months and to install a new meter. Laura second.
All yea.
Tim
Moore, 8530 Maple St, was present. There
are two houses on one line – 8530 & 8520.
Metzger is currently living in one.
He is in the middle of a lawsuit with Bill Housekeeper over ownership. He got a bill regarding delinquent water bill
from his attorney. Housekeeper is
getting the bills, not Moore. He wants
the bills. BOPA suggested Mr. Moore come
in and put the account in his name, instead of the renter, Metzger, to be
assured that he gets the bill. Tim said
he will be in tomorrow to change the account over.
Lowell
said he put in a new meter for Flynn.
The bill for the new meter reading will be on the next bill. On he old meter, usage came down 3,000
gallons.
Lowell
asked if Linda Crow had paid the tap fee for the house she is building on Old
Millersport Road. Aaron will check with
Michelle.
Bev made
a motion to adjourn. Laura second. All
yea. Time-7:30 P.M.
Respectfully Submitted,
