Meeting Minutes

January 11, 2005

 

 

Lowell called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.

 

Roll call:  Lowell Hite – Present; Bev Reese – Present; Laura Clark – Present; Aaron Reedy, Clerk – Present.

 

Laura made a motion to approve the December 2004 meeting minutes, with a correction.  Bev second. All yea.

 

Bev made a motion to approve the December 2004 Financial statement.  Laura second. All yea.

 

Michelle left a letter for the Board.  Lowell said Starlite Lanes wants a new meter.  Lowell said he’s going to replace the meter and the read-out – put everything in new.

 

Board discussed the increased water rates from Baltimore.  Went from $2.39 per 1000 gallon to $3.28 per 1000 gallon.  January bill was up about $1335.00.  Lowell said we made about $16,000 this past year.  If we keep rates the same this year, we would just break even.  They discussed waiting until June to see how the funds are looking then.

 

Lowell said he needs a PO for chlorine pellets – Hach Company for $350.00.

 

Board discussed getting grants.  Aaron said Council had mentioned getting a grant-writer.  He’ll let them know that BOPA has projects they’d like to get done, too.

 

Bev made a motion to appoint Lowell as Board of Public Affairs President.  Laura second.  All yea.

 

Laura made a motion to keep the meetings for BOPA as they are; second Tuesday of each month.  Bev second.  All yea.

 

Bev made a motion to adjourn.   Laura second.  All yea.
