Thurston Board of Public Affairs

Meeting Minutes

June 8, 2004

Lowell called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.

Roll call: Lowell Hite Present; Bev Reese Present; Laura Clark Present; Aaron Reedy, Clerk Present

Laura made a motion to approve the May 2004 meeting minutes. Bev second. All yea.

Bev made a motion to approve the May 2004 Financial statement. Laura second. All yea.

Lowell said we got another estimate from Claypool Electric to replace the pressure cabinet at the water tower. Estimate is for $1925.00, but it does not include plumbing costs. The Board discussed other alternatives. No action was taken.

The Board reviewed a draft of the Water/Sewer Payments Guidelines that the service committee is proposing.

Aaron brought up some recent issues: Gary & Deanna Yost feel their water bill has been higher than normal. They think the meter is broken. Board decided to have them pay the bill as issued, and we will have Walnut Creed Sewer District (WCSD) install a new meter at reading time.

Karl Thornton thinks his reading is too high. Kristi said the guys are keeping an eye on it.

Teresa Mulcahy thinks her bill is too high. She was instructed to contact her landlord to check it out.

John Clum thinks his reading is too high. Kristi from WCSD said this should be checked out this week.

It was noted by several people present that the WCSD was still not putting lids back on meters when the reading is done. Aaron will tell Kristi about this again.

Laura made a motion to pay bills and adjourn. Bev second. All yea.

Respectfully Submitted,

Aaron L. Reedy, Clerk
