Meeting Minutes

January 13, 2004

 

 

Lowell called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.

 

Roll call:  Lowell Hite – Present; Bev Reese – Present; Laura Clark – Present; Aaron Reedy, Clerk – Present

 

Bev made a motion to approve the December 2003 meeting minutes.  Laura second. All yea.

 

Laura made a motion to approve the December 2003 Financial statement.  Bev second. All yea.

 

Lowell said that the year-end totals showed that we made about $5,300 in the water fund this last year over expenses.

 

Lowell said there would be load/copper testing done this year.  It will cost around $300.

 

Lowell said the red tags went out today around 10:00 p.m.

 

Lowell said that since this is the first meeting of the year, we need to appoint a president and set meeting times.

 

Bev made a motion to appoint Lowell as the President of the Board of Public Affairs.  Laura second.  All yea.

 

Bev made a motion to keep the BOPA meeting times at the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  Laura second.  All yea.

 

Aaron announced we received our water license from the EPA for 2004.

 

Aaron asked Lowell if he would continue to read the electric meter at the booster station.  Lowell said he would.  Lowell said he would take deposits for new accounts if he could get a receipt book.  Aaron will get one for him.

 

Mayor Mary Barber was present.  She asked about the lead/copper testing being done.  Lowell said they will randomly choose 10 homes to take samples from.

 

Lowell said that the Walnut Creek Sewer District still isn’t reading meters right.  He said the Prather’s second house (vacant) is paying minimum, and has had no use, but the reading showed a use of 9000 gallons.  He told Kristy Shook about it.

 

Bev made a motion to pay bills and adjourn.   Laura second.  All yea.
